Spotlight on Seniors is an annual event hosted by the Saskatoon Council on Aging and TCU Place. This event happens during Seniors Week in Saskatchewan and is the province's largest event for older adults.
Spotlight on Seniors is an event designed to both educate and entertain older adults in Saskatoon and the surrounding area. It covers a wide range of topics, from hobbies and investments to careers, vacations, education, and retirement. Anything that has an impact on the lives of older adults is included in this showcase.
Spotlight on Seniors is packed with entertainment, activities, food and fun. Explore more than 80 tradeshow booths and exhibits, enjoy demos, samples, great food and meet new people in one convenient location.

Zoomer Idol is not just an event; it's an experience. It's a platform that allows older adults to shine, showcasing their vocal abilities, musical talents, dance acts, and much more. The evening starts with a lively cocktail hour followed by a grand supper and captivating performances by our talented finalists.
Our "celebrity MC" and a group of local music experts will guide our evening of entertainment. Still, the real stars of the night are the talented performers, and the audience plays an essential role by voting for their favourite acts. It's easy – each vote only costs $1. It's a simple and affordable way to show your support for the performers who have touched your heart.

Nicole Cey, Clinical Coordinator and Erin Soltys, Senior Occupational Therapist will provide and overview of the specialized geriatric services that GEM [Geriatric Evaluation Management] offers. You will also learn how you can optimize your physical and cognitive health to help you to remain as independent as possible.
The GEM Day Program at Saskatoon City Hospital is a six- to eight-week daytime program for clients over 65 years of age who receive an interdisciplinary geriatric assessment of their physical movement, cognitive ability, mental health, and medication use and are able to take part in therapy and group sessions. The recreation component is crucial to linking the social, physical, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual benefits of therapy, and contributes significantly to overall health and well-being of the individual.

The Saskatoon Council on Aging is holding a Saskatoon Mayoral Candidate Forum this fall on issues of concern to older adults and their families.

Moderated speed networking (with each candidate for the public) at 4:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m.

Connecting Seniors with Indigenous Culture Through Visits to Sacred Places Ancient Echoes Interpretive Centre
Date: Friday July 26, 2024
Time: 8 am to 4 pm [includes one and half hours travel time]
Join us for a trip to Ancient Echoes Interpretive Centre to learn about Indigenous History (petroglyphs, rock formations, effigies, archaeological dig, ceremonial circles, buffalo jump, food processing site, tool artifacts and pottery making displays).
